BALDEMAR LOPEZ

Baldemar has over a decade of government and legal experience stretching from his early career at the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) to his tenure in Governor Pat Quinn’s Assistant Chief of Staff for Legislative and as a partner in an ever-evolving unique law firm.

Through Baldemar’s career, he has worked on significant pieces of legislation and complex legal matters.  During his time with the Governor, he worked in passing a omnibus procurement bill of and election law legislation.  Baldemar takes pride in representing small and large clients in immigration, litigation and legislative affairs.

Baldemar is a former City Councilman for the City of Elgin, a member of the Chicago Bar Association and Illinois Bar Association, a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, board member of Farmworker Landscaper Advocacy Project, and a member of the Illinois Latino Caucus Foundation Board. He obtained his law degree from the University of Denver and his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
